Meet the Beautiful Humans You’ll Be Helping
I have been speaking with Mahmood and Asma regularly since June of 2024. Their generosity and kindness is like nothing i’ve ever seen. Even through their own hardships, they both helped feed others when food was available, and only wish for their ability to work and support themselves again. Read about their lives and dreams below.
-
Mahmood is a 27 year old photographer, filmmaker, sound engineer and voice-over artist. He holds a diploma in television broadcasting and was pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Media at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza when the genocide began. His university and home have been destroyed, and instead of going after his goals, now his only focus is his and his family’s survival.
He lives with his younger brother, two sisters, and parents.
-
Asma is a 25 year old fashion designer and seamstress with dreams of having her work worn around the world. She lost her fashion house and home when the genocide began.
Even while going through the worst thing any person can live through, she has kept a level of resilience, kindness and optimism I have never seen before.
Asma lives with her family and 3 cats.

My Work
Hey there!
Thank you so much for being here, and considering taking part in Portraits for Palestine!
I believe in the power of visual storytelling to connect, empower and inspire people. My mission is to create images that not only evoke emotion, but also spark a positive change in the world. We will definitely be doing that with this project.
